Posi-tap Connector, 16-18 Gauge Wire Review

These things are great and easily tap right into existing wires with needle like penetration of the insulation. There are absolutely no bare wires showing. The down side is that most products have installation manuals that tell you not to use any sort of tap to do your wiring. The main reason I feel like I have to replace these with soldered connections is because I tapped 12 gauge ignition wires with 16 gauge Posi-taps.
This was the fastest, least wire damaging way to set up my new car alarm and test it. I'm going to add a window module and try to solder all of the heavy gauge connections while I have the dash off one last time. The one minor down side is that it's easy to lose the tiny end pieces that pierce or connect the wires. I've got about three of them in my dash somewhere. The Posi-taps are not cheap.
My experience with the smaller Posi-taps (red) was not as good. That's a separate review.
